Marvels Lane Children’s Centre aims to provide inclusive services and activities for families with children, parents and carers of all abilities. All of our sessions are inclusive.

The building is on one level, with no steps and a wheelchair accessible toilet and baby-changing facilities. If you or your child require any support to access our services, or if you would like advice on which sessions would suit your family best, please contact us.

Children’s Centre Timetable Sept – Dec 2022

Building Blocks Playgroup is a drop-in session for children aged 0-4 years.  These sessions allow children to learn through play and are great for developing your child’s social skills, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and concentration.  Classes include art and craft, messy play and home corner.  

Peter Rabbit Baby Group is a free drop-in session for babies up to 18 months.  bring your little ones along to explore soft toys, gentle music and visual stimulation.  This is a perfect opportunity for you to spend quality time with your little ones and to bond.  A baby sensory playroom will also be available for you to use.

Mini Marvels Music & Rhyme is a structured lesson designed for all areas of development.  Music, rhyme, colourful props and social interaction make this the perfect class for you to develop and learn together.  Booking is essential and there is a £2.00 charge for each session, please see the timetable below for age-relevant sessions.

Tiny Chefs is a course aimed at encouraging your child to become interested in cooking in a safe and friendly environment and to become more adventurous with food.  Your toddler (with your help) will explore taste, textures and smells of various fruits and vegetables with the aim of producing scrumptious, healthy, simple meals and enjoy eating them.  All family learning courses have a small enrolment fee, but you may be entitled to join for free if you receive benefits or are on a low income.  If you think you may be eligible please email your telephone number and photographic evidence to adultlearning@lewisham.gov.uk and someone will contact you to complete your enrolment. 

Sensory Story and Rhyme Time is a short course about loving stories and rhyming and song…..all being brought to life though our senses.  You and your child will have fun incorporating sounds, rhythms, movement, sound effects, props and a variety of textures into your storytelling.  You can even make up your own sounds and movements!  Your child will begin learning to use the clues around us to make sense of the world, to predict what might happen next and to fire up their imaginations.  To sign up to this group please register through the website www.lewishamcfc.org.uk

Healthy Routine and Lifestyle for Toddlers is a 4 week course for parents to help them develop positive routines for young children.  We will explore lots of idea including having fun and getting out and about with your children, thinking about low cost or free activities, developing sleep routines, positive mealtimes, healthy food choices and potty training. Each week information will be shared and discussed in small groups.  You can bring children under 12 months to these sessions, but the course is focused on adult activities.  To sign up to this group please register through the website www.lewishamcfc.org.uk

Get Active sessions are aimed at confident walkers and focuses on physical development, they are an exciting way of encouraging exercise and learning to follow instructions.  Children will use equipment to climb and crawl whilst learning about numbers, colours and the alphabet.

Baby Massage is a 5 week course for babies up to the age of 6 months.  Baby massages are a great way to bring you and your little one closer.  Trust and communication develop as you interact with your baby.  You will be taught techniques that will help to calm and relax your baby.

2 Year Funding or Family Support Advice.  You can book an appointment with Mrs Cariello, our Family Support Worker, for any aspect of family support, child development or help & advice.  

We also offer a Family Support service for any family who would like to access support, information and advice.
