Guided Reading.

Guided Reading                                   grupni_rad

This is timetabled daily and children are taught how to apply decoding strategies which extends beyond phonics, such as using context and grammatical clues. Specific comprehension skills including retrieval, deductive and inferential skills are taught through questioning, responding, explaining and summarising. Children write their responses in books where appropriate. In Year 6, children have 30-45 minutes of guided reading three times a week. Extra provision is given those who are working below age-related expectation in the form of individual tuition, catch-up reading (1:1) and reading clubs.
