ADMISSIONS

Applications for a primary school place at Marvels Lane School are processed centrally by the London Borough of Lewisham’s Admissions Team, following Lewisham:  Determined Admissions Criteria. If the school is oversubscribed places will be allocated to:

  1. Children who are Looked After
  2. Children with a medical or social need
  3. Siblings of children already in school
  4. Children who live closest to the school

Reception Class

To apply for a Reception Class place you need to apply to the Local Authority where you live.  For Lewisham residents you can apply online at:  www.eadmissions.org.uk or complete a Common Application Form which is available from any Lewisham primary school and should be returned to the Admissions and Appeals Team, 3rd Floor, Laurence House, Catford, SE6 4RU.  Children start in Reception the September after their fourth birthday.  Applications should be made between September and January for a place the following September.

In September 2013 we will be admitting 90 children.  The deadline for applications is 15th January 2013.

Other Year Groups

For any other applications (including late Reception applications) the parent/carer should contact Lewisham Admissions Team direct on 020 8314 8282 or by email on schooladmissions@lewisham.gov.uk. and obtain an In Year Common Application form from the school office.

If you are applying from another Lewisham school you will first be expected to discuss your reasons for wanting to move with your child’s current Headteacher.

If you live in a borough other than Lewisham, you can still apply but you will need to contact your own Local Authority to complete one of their forms.

Nursery Class

Marvels Lane Nursery offers 42 part-time places – 21 in the morning, 21 in the afternoon plus one extra session to make up your child’s entitlement to 15 hours free nursery education.  Children would usually start nursery in the September after their third birthday and applications should be made directly to the school on forms available from the school office (see Admissions policy for further details).

Visits to the School

We welcome and encourage visits from prospective parents and carers.  Please contact the school to book a place on one of our school open mornings.  These are usually held on the first Wednesday of every month at 9.10 am, with occasional extra tours at peak times.
